Totally inspired by Murmaider II. For some reason, I just really, really like that part of the song and listened to it on repeat while studying for my finals.

So angler fish are really fun to draw and I doodle them all over my notes. Technically this should be a female angler fish, because it's the females with the dangly shiny thing. But artistic license and all that. Also, I feel like this merman of mine would be really scared of females because of how angler fish mate.

I don't like how I drew his knife or the blood, but I can deal. OH how I wish I could draw cool action-y poses. SWIM ON

I love ho you blended the colors! The blood could use a crimson touch, but everything else is fine! The expression is devilishly sadistic. The bone armor is fantastic!

Did you make this in Photoshop by any chance?

Thanks! The blood used to be redder, but I didn't like it that way either. XD I messed around with the colors a lot. Which feels like cheating, but whatever...

Bone armor is always awesome. I think that's my favorite part of the picture. <3
